"Gentlemen, gentlemen, such haste is unseemly. Aurora is going nowhere. Are you my dear? No, of course not. You'll stay with us, and by the by you'll serve us; 'till then we must discourse, as befits those who know and manipulate the ways of the world." Iblis pauses, adjusts his robes nonchalantly, and looks around him at his associates. Then he steps forward, and his lip curls upward in a horrible sneer, and his eyes gleam insanely. "Let me tell you now what you do here, witch. Inure yourself to pain--disinvest disgust and bid farewell to your balance--for they are but the cruel falsities which will make your transformation painful; you have nothing, you are nothing, here among us. Your coven is gone--with but a word to my comrades you are as well. You will join us now. You will bear our progeny. And with time you will come to enjoy it." The demonking allows a smile then. "Or you will most assuredly die."
So has the peckish world reared itself through time, man unto woman: The intimidation and the bullying strong-arm harassment to the furthest reaches of unbalanced behavior--in dreams and in waking, in the home and abroad, among intimates and strangers, the victims victimize with a fervor and passion marked by absence of all true awareness and compassion.
Enough is more than enough.
"I am a witch, poor Iblis. I am your doom" Resolved now, my smile becomes a grin, my trickling laughter a flood of exhilaration. "More than that, I am you Mother, and you are a very naughty man. I will not be staying." I call upon me now my aspects--I am the Hag and the Spinster, the Amazon, the Crone, and the Fury; while the power arrayed before me may be formidable, it is dependent upon my own will: My enemy is but a gathering of overgrown fearshades with hyperactive libidos. My own labra is the font of their power. I will fear no evil, for I am the regeneration of the cosmos.
Iblis does not yet fathom my resolve; however, his history is vast, and his senses otherworldly. He hears something in my voice--he looks into my eyes and he sees there a kindling light. His perception shall avail him naught. These symbols of the dark side of the balance have been too long at the fair. A tide stirs now in the peckish world, a new force rises among the currents and whorls which have dictated the pattern of the world's mana, and soon, very soon, the brackish and stale waters will be washed clean, flooded with the crystalline radiance which shines from out the eye of the hawk and glistens in the morning dew of a spider's web and caroms off each and every twittering leaf of the aspen trees in the forest.
Though I know not where I have been transported, I do know where I have come from, where I belong. Even as comprehension begins to assail the mind of Iblis, I gather to me a flight of Valkyrie. I raise up my bound hands to the High Moon. The men around me begin to mill about nervously, fearing an uncertain future. Faintly, a Elspeth's voice calls my name.
"You have no power here witch!" The enraged Underlord is coming after me himself. "You belong to us, and we shall have you!"
"When you begin to take the full measure of your misunderstanding on the matter, my lord, I shall say a prayer for your misbegotten servants who will be forced to bear the brunt of what is sure to be a tantrum of truly planetary proportions. You have no power over me anywhere, man--you never have and you never will." I fix him with a baleful glare, and in that moment he reads the enormity of his folly, and cries out. "I believe I have taken a rather potent Motherwalk this night, and would thank you by offering this insight."
I look into the eye of the Devil now with a surging spirit and no fear in my heart. "The Way and the Goddess are not constructs, Iblis, but very real and potent forces to be reckoned with always. The world has tipped too far and now regains her balance; my sisters and I stand ready at the fulcrum to assist in this. Your ascendancy has come to an end." And now it is my turn to gather my robes imperiously about me.
"Do not fuck with Mother Nature, Iblis--to your everlasting regret you will ultimately find yourself humbled each and every time." There comes a shrieking, and a whirlwind, and I am caught up and lifted toward the silvery shining disc nestled amid the stars above me, while silence falls like a settling cloud of archaic dust behind me.
